The Colorado Advisory Council for Persons with Disabilities (CACPD) recently held a summer outreach event at the Carriage House at the Governor’s Residence at the Boettcher Mansion. The Council was moved from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor to the Colorado Department of Human Services, Office of Community Access and Independence in July of 2018.
The purpose of this seasonal event was to connect the CACPD with various representatives from the disability community. On a beautiful summer afternoon, more than 100 representatives from the disability community and various state departments gathered to enjoy summer beverages and snacks.
CACPD Chairperson Julia Miller spoke to a full room of attendees. She thanked each attendee for their valued partnership and introduced members of the CACPD council. In addition, Miller and her team outlined the CACPD legislative mandate and shared information about their educational efforts around the state.
